Kota Bharu -Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (KBR)
The Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (KBR) is the Malaysia’s third busiest domestic airport and the hub for air travel in the East Coast. It is located 8km away from Kota Bharu city center, in the town of Pengkalan Chepa. The terminal building has a Moorish architecture in its design, characterized by the beautiful curved archways.
The airport offers flights to four domestic destinations from three airlines -Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia, and Firefly. At present, the airport does not offer any international flight.

Operating Hours
The airport's normal operating hours are between 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. In event of flight delays, the airport will remain open until the flight has taken off, or has been cancelled.
Getting to/away
Taxi: Coupon taxis are available at the airport and the average fare between Kota Bharu and the airport is RM29. The trip will take about 15 minutes.
Bus: Public bus service between Kota Bharu and the airport is also available. Bus No. 9 arrives at 30 minute intervals on an average in front of the airport. The trip to city center bus station takes approximately 20 minutes and costs RM1.80. It operates from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
